Details: | SUMMARY: Cross connection enabling authority DETAILS: HBH Consulting Engineers Inc., representing the ODHS-DWP circuit rider program received notice that the North Bayside Estates N. did not have a current enabling authority on file with the Drinking Water Program. I met with Doug and his wife the managers of the Bayside Estates. They had recently received correspondence from EPA regarding the stage 2 disinfection byproduct rule participation. The letter was a waiver granting no participation required until further notice, with an explanation to continue testing for TTHMs and HAA5s. They both admitted it all seemed like a foreign language to them. Doug indicated all he had done in the way of sampling since taking over the park was the monthly bacterial sampling. The OHD-DWP web site had not been entered into the computer so Mrs. Lagrou went about entering the site while Doug and I looked at the latest micro results. The next couple of hours were spent exploring all that "data online" has to offer. Its a great teaching tool and it finally got us back on track to cross connection enabling authority and the annual summary report, the purpose of the visit. We went through the OARs where relevant for the definitions and responsibility of the purveyor. I left them with prepared copies for signing and mailing to the DWP. ACTION NEEDED: Be available for technical assistance if requested by the water system. Follow up prior to March date for annual summary submittal. |
