Details: SUMMARY: Cross connection enabling authority DETAILS: I have visited the Langlois treatment plant on several occasions and have recently attended an AWWA subsection meeting with Dave the plant operator. During conversations with Dave I mentioned I had been contacting the Old Sheep Ranch to introduce them to the cross connection materials and the summary report requirements due by March. Dave mentioned he was struggling with putting together a program for the Langlois Water District and would be interested in sitting in on any presentations I might be making to the OSR. Dave has served as the DRC for the OSR in the past while the OSR was without a certified operator. I ask Dave if he could arrange a meeting between the two groups for a presentation to expedite the training. I prepared the usual cross connection information packet with an introduction to the enabling authority presentation including the OARs 333-061-0070 and the plumbing code. Later in the month Dave called to discuss a previous recommendation made as part of a response to a sanitary survey back in July of 2005. The circuit rider program had recommended an effluent meter on the 8” effluent line from the onsite treated storage. Dave had requested a second option on meter choices due to potential cost over-run on excavation due to the depth of the main at the proposed site. I am offering another option to the Langlois Water District, the complete cost including shipping for an 8” Seametrics EX 115B-40 Electromag with a hot tap submersible option with power supply and saddle for $1,304.10. I will fax the quote to Dave ASAP. ACTION NEEDED: Schedule enabling authority presentation and follow-up on meter quote.
