Details: | SUMMARY: Water System Inactivated DETAILS: We inspected the facilities and water supply faucets for public use have been inactivated. There were about 8 stand pipe outside faucets to serve 10 rental cabins, but the water line has been physically disconnected. Fire hydrant lines remain in service but water supply is not accessible to the public. Water supply to the Forest Service cabin (used as rental) has been shut off by use of a valve. Water supply remains in service for the 6 person work crew and includes a laundry room, single shower, and 3 compartment dish wash sink in the crew kitchen. Bottled drinking water is provided to the work crew, and cabin rental customers. The owner plans to provide plastic water containers with spigots for hand wash and dishwashing water in each rental cabin. We also inspected the 5,000 gallon steel water tank and proposed well site. The owner maintains a 0.3 - 1.0 mg/l chlorine residual in the tank by placing 1/2 cup bleach per 1,000 gallons. ACTION NEEDED: DWP to inactivate the public water system. Jefferson County staff will conduct a license inspection on Tuesday, 26 June. |
