| Details: | SUMMARY: State regulated: quarterly routine taken 5/25/07 TC positive DETAILS: I called the current contact number and it was disconnected, so had to track down the current operator. I was told Bill Barnett was the current operator so I called him and spoke to his wife who was very knowledgeable. She said they chlorinated the system after receiving the TC positive but havent done any follow-up sampling nor had they planned to. I explained the sampling requirements including doing 4 repeats and 5 temp routines the following month. I also told her that the current rules require quarterly coliform testing and annual nitrate. She said she thinks there has been nitrate testing that didnt get reported to the state (last one in SDWIS for nitrate was 1997). She mentioned that they are only on one well now (she thinks it is BA- no. 2 south) because the other one dried up. She said water volume is low-- its difficult to even let the water run 3-5 minutes to do the sampling like youre supposed to because of the lack of water. I offered to stop by and talk about the sampling requirements, go over proper sampling technique, and share any handouts I have that might be helpful. She seemed pleased about that and said she would pass on the info we discussed in our conversation to her husband. ACTION NEEDED: I obtained updated information and did an inventory update form and sent it to the state DWP on this date. No further action needed at this time. | ||
