| Details: | SUMMARY: 1 of 4 repeat samples 6/05/07 TC positive DETAILS: MCL violation requiring tier 1 public notice, issued today (6/07/07) for all phase 1 and 2 customers (copy attached). Phase 1 and 2 are scheduled to be chlorinated on Monday 6/11/07. 6/12/07: Sampled and confirmed a chlorine residual of 2.0 ppm throughout the system. Special samples collected at original 2 positive sites from 6/05/07 and 1 other. Source water samples collected from phase 3 transfer line and from the only active phase 1 and 2 well, all negative except for phase 3 transfer line (TC positive). System chlorinated again including phase 3 storage tank, the suspected problem source. Will resample on 6/19 after chlorine has completely run out of system. 6/20/07: 4 addresses tested negative for TC, phase 3-1/2 transfer line tested positive for TC. 6/22/07: Sample collected at bottom of transfer line tested positive for TC. Transfer line will be isolated, inspected, and shocked. Phase 1 and 2 currently chlorinated and will be resampled on 6/26. Transfer line isolation and public notice will end if all samples are negative. All phase 1 and 2 samples passed, transfer line repaired. Transfer line will not be used until full and sampled again. System users are being notified that they may consume water. ACTION NEEDED: 5 routine samples in July from phase 1 and 2 and one routine sample from phase 3. | ||
