| Details: | SUMMARY: Nitrate alert DETAILS: A confirmation sample result of 13.99 was received on 6/15/07. The Lewiss have been contacted and given the health effects information for nitrate MCL exceedance and have posted the public notice for nitrate exceedance. This notice will remain posted until the nitrate problem is resolved. KCEHD will strongly recommend bottled water be provided to all water users and bottled water be used for all food preparation. A letter will be given to them ASAP explaining their options and requirements for nitrate MCL exceedance. A restaurant inspection was done on 6/15/07. The nitrate public notice was not posted at that time but one was posted by the end of the inspection and KCEHD has a copy of the notice. NOTE: Additional phone numbers given 882-2435, 883-3235 (home), 273-6222 (fax) ACTION NEEDED: Provide Lewiss with a letter explaining their requirements and options in this situation.
