Details: SUMMARY: Contact with owner of the system after results of nitrate over MCL- results of 10.1 ppm (5/2/07) DETAILS: This system has a history of high nitrate levels. A test that was taken on 3/27/07 had a test result of 10.98 ppm. I contacted Jim Olheiser (operator of Cowboys catering and restaurant) at that time and asked him to pull a confirmation sample. The average of the two samples were 10.54 ppm which makes it a violation. Treatment will have to be placed on the system. All the water except for irrigation will need treatment. ACTION NEEDED: Post notice of violation, operator of "Cowboys" has been notified. This will be a CRITICAL VIOLATION when doing the restaurant semi-annual inspection which will prompt a repeat inspection within 2 weeks. If by that time the water violation has not been corrected it will cause closure of the restaurant.
