| Details: | SUMMARY: Total coliform violation follow-up DETAILS: Bob called to report that all 4 repeat samples he collected in response to a recent postive total coliform routine were also total coliform positive. All repeat samples were E Coli and fecal coliform negative. Pacific Analytical was lab which provided bottles and analysis. Good bottles, good sample technique, and good lab QA/QC reported. System had free chlorine residual of 0.7 mg/L at time of samples. Discussed need for public notification asap, with a template or assistance to be provided by Benton County EH. I outlined situation for Dan Moreno, Benton Co EH, and he contacted Chris Bielenberg (541-766-6015) with system to discuss details of PN and next steps. Bob called back after additional investigation of system status: free chlorine residual in distribution was measured at 0.5-0.7 mg/L, with a minimal residual at end of distribution (blow off) of 0.2 mg/L. Bob increased initial feed to 3.0 mg/L at entry point, with system to be shock chlorinated asap. Dan Moreno, Benton Co EH, is working directly with system on details. ACTION NEEDED: Await additional repeat samples to determine compliance status and any additional corrective actions. Dan Moreno, Benton Co EH, to continue technical assistance to PWS until situation resolved. | ||
