| Details: | SUMMARY: Positive total coliform routine sample collected 8/23/2007. DETAILS: I spoke with Tim Ellis (operator at City of Coquille and responsible for coliform sample collection at purchasing Rink Creek WD) on 08/28/2007 regarding the positive total coliform routine sample collected at Rink Creek on 8/23/2007. Tim believes the positive result may be due to organic gardening practices around the sample tap use for this sample collection. Tim thinks he may not have adequately disinfected the tap prior to sample collection. The cl2 residual at this location was 0.54 mg/L. Five repeat samples were collected by Tim on 8/27/2007 (2 upstream, 2 downstream and the initial positive location) and cl2 residuals were adequate. The City is considering installing sample stations to eliminate the concern over using private individuals home sample taps. ACTION NEEDED: Await results of repeat samples. Five routine samples are due in September. | ||
