Details: | SUMMARY: Use of Streaming Current Monitor and provate easement issues. DETAILS: My previous experience as a treatment plant supervisor allowed me to try several SCMs prior to purchasing a reliable and cost effective product. In my travels as a circuit rider I have visited several plants, some using devices other than the one I finally installed. The devices are for the most part acceptable to the user and fairly rugged, as I explained to Dave. I did however recommend the HF Scientific Mocro 200 SCM due to the simplicity of design, ease of calibration to a known ion Charge unit (iCu) value using a cationic polymer solution. The system has a 4-20 mA output signal to automatically control coagulant feed systems. All units are supplied with an extra sample cell and probe set. The cost of the SCM with the calibration kit is well over $1000 less than the competition. Dave wanted to discuss the situation surrounding the access to the intake structure that has recently arisen. In the middle of the intake project, the land that the intake structure sits on, the access to the structure and the ownership to the middle of Floras Creek is being claimed as private property. Dave is asking if there is a water agency that can bar the private party from forbidding access. Once again the CRP has no status in such matters as there are apparent legal demands already being placed on the system to exchange property got access. The district has legal council and should follow through with whatever course of action the board and council are able to resolve. I advised Dave to maintain the lowest of profiles and observe whatever council advises is appropriate. ACTION NEEDED: Be available for assistance if requested. |
