Details: | SUMMARY: Field Visit to review treatment DETAILS: Sarah Schwab asked me to accompany her to Lees Camp to look at their treatment system and determine compliance steps. We determined that there are 8 homes on the system in addition to the store, yet treatment is only applied at the store. The landowner, John Lund also happened to be there, so we discussed the idea of centralized treatment with him. He seemed open to it, and had thought of it before. He has also been seeking a spring source. The treatment on the store is not sufficient for surface water: a 10 micron carbon filter and a 5 micron string filter, and UV. The filters are labeled "5 micron" and "1 micron" but we called the filter company and found out that they are really 10 and 5, and that they are not to be considered safe for drinking. Cindy said she wasnt aware of that. The quote for a Rosedale filter system was $9000. ACTION NEEDED: Sarah and I agreed to write a letter detailing what they need to do. |
