| Details: | SUMMARY: Nitrate 9.3 mg/L DETAILS: I received an alert for a Nitrate result of 9.3 mg/L taken on 8/29/07. Previous results have ranged from 1.1 to 6.5 mg/L. I spoke with Kyle Rolnick on 11/7/07 who said the well is on the corner of the property and they have an easement, so she is fairly certain there are no septic systems within 100 feet, but there are chickens that may roam within 100 ft. She said there was also a clearcut a couple years ago and fertilizers are sprayed, although she is not sure how recently. Although the sample was taken at the Entry Point, she said they have a point of use Reverse Osmosis unit on the sink that they use for drinking water. She is going to contact Culligen to find out if it removes Nitrate. She is also going to verify the easement around the well and the nearby activities. Kyle agreed to take another Nitrate sample this quarter and next quarter so we can be sure that the water stays below the MCL. This system serves a maximum of 12 kids and 2 or 3 staff. ACTION NEEDED: Await results of the quarterly nitrate. | ||
