| Details: | SUMMARY: Evaluate filter media depth and condition DETAILS: Operators are unsure of filter media depth and conditions as previous operator moved on to another job. No documentation of the addition could be found in records. I dug into filter 1 and found that it had 32 inches of media depth, with 18 inches being anthracite and 14 inches being silica sand. It is dual media filter. There were no mud balls present and the anthracite was clean, fluffy, had sharp edges and appeared to be in very good condition. I observed a back wash cycle and the air scour appeared fairly normal with on end wall taking longer to achieve uniform air bubbling. ACTION NEEDED: An evaluation of bed expansion during back wash should be done | ||
