| Details: | SUMMARY: False positive E.coli. Looking to invalidate site, sample and/or violation DETAILS: Larry says the drain line in Sample Station #68 was severed and thereby caused dirt to enter the routine sample. He noticed it before giving it to the lab, and Larry was led to believe the Lab agreed to mark it a special before running the sample. However, the Lab did not change the original labeling, and left it a routine, and then when an E.coli positive resulted, the lab reported it as a routine sample. This caused a violation. ACTION NEEDED: Pete asked Larry to take the repeat samples first, before debating whether to invalidate the original sample. Pete asked that Larry take one additional (4th) sample at Sample Station #68. Larry took three samples, but did not take a repeat sample at the original site WS wishes to invalidate. The 3 repeats taken were negative, however. WS will look to invalidate Sample Station #68 in November. |
