Details: | SUMMARY: Drilling New Well with Correct Construction Guidance DETAILS: (3 of 3 contact rpts) … 5. However, if the GW in new well is also O2 deficient, and given the lack of coliform positives in the old well (presumably from the same aquifer) and its proximity, we would not require the well evaluated for surface water influence. If WS wants to retain the old well as an emergency well, we would not require evaluation for surface water influence. When it is used, however, we may require WS to issue a public notice stating that the well has not been fully evaluated for potential surface water influence, and therefore the presence of Giardia and Cryptosporidium. ACTION NEEDED: Go through Plan Review Drill new well Seal casing 5 feet into bedrock. Abandon old well or maintain it as an emergency well. Ascertain whether Surface Water Influence needs evaluating in new well by water quality parameter analysis (i.e. oxygen deficient conditions). |
