Details: SUMMARY: Follow-up on high Nitrate reading. Result 14.18ppm, taken 4/10/07. DETAILS: This water system has had nitrate problems on this well since October on 2005. The latest test was the first of 2007 after the water had been out of service for the winter. The data has been consistently high since 2005. The water to the hand sinks and water faucet has been turned off. The system is posted and the system plans on taking both Nitrate and Coliform samples every month during their open season in 2007. ACTION NEEDED: Long term plans are to look into a Nitrate removal process for the short term and long term look into drilling another well at that site. Operator said that they intended to use the current well for irrigation and to drill another one for drinking water. I recommended that all nitrate removal equipment needs to pass through the State plan review process.
