Details: | Water system is dealing with an elevated copper issue. Needs direction in selection of a corrosion control method. Assistance Provided: Dan Vaage reviewed water quality parameters provided by Garren Friedemann, The EPA flowchart for selection of a corrosion control method points to orthophosphate as the preferred means of corrosion control. It is the Circuit Rider’s opinion that for a small groundwater system like Starlite Village, a simpler solution may be the installation of a calcite reactor given the water parameters at Starlite Village. There are many other water systems in the State that are using calcite reactors as an effective means of corrosion control. Our recommendation is to reach out to the operators of these systems and source a reactor that will work for Starlite Village.
