| Details: | SUMMARY: Alert response for Total Coliform positive test result. DETAILS: On August 16, 2007, I received a Water Quality Alert for High Desert Estates regarding a positive Total Coliform routine test result. I checked the Drinking Water Program (SDWIS) website on August 22, 2007 to check the recent status. I discovered that when I received the Water Alert, four repeat samples had also being taken that same day. The four repeat tests results were posted on SDWIS on August 22, 2007-- all of which showed negative test results. Today, August 23, 2007, I left Terry a phone message regarding the need to take five routine tests, now that all the repeat tests showed up as negative for Total Coliform. I also recommended a method for taking those routine tests. ACTION NEEDED: A preferable method of doing these five routine tests is that one sample should be taken from the well-- one sample should be taken from the site that showed up positive initially-- one sample should be located somewhere above the original positive site-- one sample should be located somewhere below the positive site-- and the fifth sample should be taken at another location somewhere in the distribution system. | ||
