| Details: | SUMMARY: Corrosion assistance DETAILS: Operator originally contacted HBH on 11/14/07 with questions of how to raise pH slightly within the distribution system to reduce potential for corrosion. Recent tests results include a lead concentration of 0.0180 mgl. The action level for lead is 0.0155 mgl. He indicated that DWP staff recommended aiming for a pH of about 7.2. Normal pH levels in the system are reportedly between 6.8 and 7.0. I investigated options for chemical treatment to raise pH. I provided verbal recommendations to operator following investigation. Operator called HBH 11/29/07 to ask for clarification of original recommendations. I reiterated over the phone and wrote a summary letter for clarification. ACTION NEEDED: None | ||
