| Details: | SUMMARY: Received Alert via email and contacted operator regarding required action. DETAILS: Routine monthly coliform sample for August was positive for Total Coliform. Previously I had contacted Margaret, and told her of the positive sample and that 4 repeat samples were then required. One of the four repeat samples was Total Coliform Positive, thus an MCL violation. I told Margaret to disinfect the water system by adding chlorine to the storage tank (bring concentration to 3.0 ppm)-- flush the system, then resample. The system will be required to post a public notice. I helped Margaret with the notice. The system was to be disinfected August 13, 2007 and flush, then take follow-sample to assure that the disinfection solved the problem. ACTION NEEDED: 1. Disinfect the system by chlorination at the tank to 3.0 ppm. 2. Flush the system to distribute the disinfectant throughout the system. 3. Take follow-up coliform samples. 4. Provide public notice. | ||
