Details: | SUMMARY: The routine sample collected on 08/02/07 tested positive for Total Colifrom. DETAILS: Please note that this is a public water system as outlined in the sanitary survey conducted on 09/19/06. This system has water delivered to two, 2,000-gallon concrete storage tanks by the Medford Water Commission. The system has not been in use since the end of school in June. The positive water sample is likely a result of water sitting in the storage tank for an extended period of time. Because this will likely reoccur on an annual basis, the new standard operating procedure will be to shock the system every year in mid-August before putting it back online for the new school year. The third quarter sample will not be collected until after the shock chlorination is completed each August. ACTION NEEDED: The system needs to be shock chlorinated, flushed, refilled and re-sampled seven days latter. | ||
