Details: | SUMMARY: Inability to meet treatment technique requirements DETAILS: I spoke with Gary VanDerVeen who visited the water system the morning of 01/09/08. He said that the operator seemed to be competent in operating the system. The filters are still off-line, but filtering to waste while they ripen. Chlorine residuals are about 2 mg/l and Gary believed the sediment stirred up by piping the hauled water into the 7,400 gallon clearwell was causing elevated turbidity at the entry point to the distribution system. He thought that there was not a risk to public health as long as chlorine residual was measurable in the system. I told Gary that I agreed, but that Chris Hughes would be consulted before a decision was made whether to have them issue a boil water notice. ACTION NEEDED: Consult Chris Hughes regarding boil water notice or not. |
