| Details: | SUMMARY: Response to 10/23/2007 Alert for Nitrate Results of 14.7 DETAILS: On 10/25/2007 the office received an alert for a nitrate sample coming back over the MCL the Oasis RV & Campground. I called Glendoris to talk to her about these results. Due to some historical high nitrates, this system was on treatment for nitrates. I called Lindsay Ecowater in Ontario to get an idea of what kind of treatment this facility had. Scott for Ecowater said that they had a water softener that was transformed into a nitrate filter. He said that it must be regenerated just like a softener. Therefore, it was our assumption that this process was not getting done correctly. Ecowater was going to respond to this within 24 hours. Otherwise, a Tier 1 public notice (using EPA template) was faced to the water system and should be posted. ACTION NEEDED: Confirmation sample will be taken. Ecowater will fix filter. | ||
