| Details: | SUMMARY: Arsenic MCL exceedance after treatment DETAILS: I received an alert for Arsenic above the MCL taken on 10/22/07 at 0.0217 mg/L. I spoke with Walter Zajac in November and again on 1/16/08. The system uses Granular Ferric Hydroxide for arsenic removal, installed in 2006. Walter said he would speak with the Culligan representative to find out what is wrong with the filter. I told Walter to take a confirmation sample. I called Walter again on 1/16/08 and he said the filter needed new membranes. I told Walter that Tom Charbonneaus Plan Review approval letter stated that the media has a life expectancy of 8-10 years. I told Walter that HBH Engineers may be able to provide some advice and I e-mailed Garret Pallo. Walter took another Arsenic sample on 1/10/08 and has not yet received the results. I told Walter to take another Arsenic sample in the 2nd quarter of the year. ACTION NEEDED: Await results of the 2 quarters of arsenic. | ||
