Details: SUMMARY: Alert for Positive Total Coliform DETAILS: On 8/31, Clint Haugen, Owner, called to notify me that the two samples taken on 22nd of August were absent for E.Coli but positive for Total Coliform. ACTION NEEDED: *The system needs to have 2 repeat absent samples for both total coliform and E.Coli. Until these tests come back absent, this system will be on a boil water notice posted on the store front in a conspicuous place. Boiled water can be used for dishwashing, drinking, making ice, and food preparation. If one is not able to boil water onsite you may consider purchasing bottled water. *After 2 clean repeat samples are taken, 5 routine samples need to be taken the next calendar month, if they are present for total coliform and/or E.Coli a boil water notice will need to be posted and resamples will need to be taken along with 5 routine samples the following month. *After talking with Kari Salis about your current situation it appears that you may need to install a chlorinator and a 5 log filtration system to ensure safe drinking water. *The samples taken on 9/17 and 9/22 are listed as special samples, these need to be listed as repeat samples, please contact your lab to change this information. *Monthly coliform sampling is required for your system. Our records indicate your sampling has been inconsistent. For 2007 we have samples in July and August. For 2006 we have samples in January, July and August. The next samples were taken in August and September 2001. Sample results need to be provided to us on a monthly basis. This can be done by providing the lab with you PWS ID: 4106086, they will then forward all result to the DWP as they receive them. *On 9/6 Kari Salis, from DWP, and I will be visiting your water system and conducting a sanitary survey.
