| Details: | SUMMARY: Storage Tank Water Quality Troubleshooting DETAILS: HBH previously provided solution to tank level problems (different elevations cause poor turnover). System has concerns due to existing manual operation only of plant. District staff (Robert Young and Landon Rainwater) visited HBH’s office to discuss options and problems with manual plant operation. We discussed potential solution using new altitude valve and potential problems since plant must run until altitude valve shuts. Discussed possible pressure switch at pumps to stop pumps. Evaluated distribution system, check valve option presented by system and recommended against this option. Explained how telemetry could be implemented using existing level signals and installing relay to shut-down pumps upon high level. Still concerns due to extremely high discharge pressures at plant and new plant being planned for near future. May be best to continue maintenance procedures now used to force tank turnover and wait until proper design can be incorporated into new plant. ACTION NEEDED: Continue to provide assistance as requested to implement strategy. | ||
