| Details: | SUMMARY: Routine Sample Positive for TC and E.coli DETAILS: November routine sample positive for tc and e-coli. 5 repeats showed 2 e-coli and 3 tc+. Discussed with Ron throughout the next several weeks and faxed PN boil water notices. PN posted 12/4 and again 12/14. System hired Butch Rogers to help find problem and fix. Affected well seemed to be #5. Well and reservoir was chlorinated several times but resamples continued to show presence of e-coli bacteria. System eventually installed chlorinator on or about 12/16/07. Contact time is achieved in reservoir and distribution chlorine residual between .1-1.0ppm. PN to inform water ok to use posted 12/1807.Spoke with Ron 1/2/08 and chlorine injection point has been moved to discharge of well #5. Discussed the need for 5 routines this month as well as weekly raw samples from well 5 for the month. ACTION NEEDED: Take 5 routines in January plus weekly special samples from source to confirm no more contamination. Cannot discontinue chlorination until 4 weekly raw samples for #5 absent. Continue to take and record residual chlorine in distribution system. System is trying to get one or more of the other existing wells on line as backup sources. System needs plan review for new reservoir and wells 3, 4, 5. System also needs new operator (distribution 1 operator), cross connection program with enabling authority, coliform sampling plan and ERP. | ||
