Details: | SUMMARY: Chlorinator overdose to > 6 ppm. DETAILS: Bob contacted OERS when he noticed that his chlorine had exceeded 6.6 ppm. HAN contacted Karen Kelley. He turned off the system all together and had a resident notify all customers that they would be out of water until the problem was resolved. Karen advised Bob to turn the water back on to provide for toilet flushing, etc. and to turn off the chlorinator as it appears to have malfunctioned. Karen advised him to notify customers that the water is non-potable until further notice. Karen provided him with health language from our rules regarding chlorine above the MRDL. On 2/27, Bob measured the free chlorine residual from his home at 0.5 mg/L. ACTION NEEDED: Bob has vendor, PumpPro, investigating the problem. Bob notified all users. He is pumping in unchlorinated water until the concentration depresses to reasonable levels all weekend. He will notify DWP Monday of the status. |
