Details: | SUMMARY: Sanitary Survey Deficiencies Assistance DETAILS: I visited the System on 1/16/08. Since my meeting the previous day I was able to make a self guided tour of the system. The System is pressurized by the well and two small pressure tanks. Water is pumped directly from the well to two pressure tanks that provide and maintain system pressure for the 23 service connection. Disinfection consists of a fixture located directly above the well case that, as the pressure switch on the system cycles, a gear driven plate with perforations is intended to drop HTH tablets directly into the well casing. The system did not activate while I observed the pump cycle. I researched the dry pellet feeder and requested an operation and maintenance document from the manufacturer. I scheduled Bandon Well to troubleshoot the pressure switch on the system ASAP. The South system has no contact storage as currently configured. When the chlorine feed system is functional, the MHP will require on-site storage to provide chlorine contact time. I researched the appropriately sized storage tank and provided estimated cost. I made sketches and investigated potential sites for locating a storage tank. The current well site has limited space for a tank location and will require excavation for proper placement of a storage tank. ACTION NEEDED: Continue to address the many deficiencies noted the Survey in a timely manor. |
