Details: | SUMMARY: Assistance with Arsenic removal system DETAILS: System had installed 1.5 years ago an Arsenic treatment. The system had failed the latest Arsenic test and Culligan explained to him that the membrane filter must be replaced to meet new standards. Mt Zajac wants some assurance that the system he has now is adequate as it is only 1.5 years old. New membranes have been installed by Culligan and a test has been conducted, waiting on the results. It appears that the system that Culligan had installed did not effectively remove arsenic. The system was certainly not worn out. I spoke with Mr Zajac over the phone. I advised him to record all the information from the data labels on his treatment equipment and call me back with that information and with the name and number of the individual at Culligan that he has been working with. The treatment process is granular ferric hydroxide (GFH). Site visit by Amy Parmenter confirms system is GFH. ACTION NEEDED: Review current system, contact Culligan and inquire about system and the changes made to meet new Arsenic MCL. Will advise system based on discussions with Culligan and testing results. |
