Details: SUMMARY: RAA for Arsenic Exceeded during 1st quarter 2008 at EP-A DETAILS: Mike sent me an email in response to exceeding the MCL for arsenic at EP-A Emerald Valley Wellfield during 1st quarter 2008 (sampled 3/24/08) with a result of 0.02 mg/L. The running annual average for the three quarters of samples collected over the last year was 0.022 mg/L, which exceeds the MCL of 0.010 mg/L. The running annual average for the EP-B Garden Lake Wellfield is 0.009 mg/L and does not exceed the MCL of 0.010 mg/L. Therefore, public notice is required to be distributed within 30 days notifying the public that the Emerald Valley Wellfield exceeded the MCL. Mike will send a copy of the public notice to us to get credit for sampling. Roy Sprout reported that the treatment plant upgrades are out for bid right now and the project should be completed by the end of 2009. This project will address the arsenic issues. ACTION NEEDED: Await copy of public notice. Quarterly sampling to continue until the problem is resolved. The City will be issued a formal enforcement order concerning the arsenic issue by mid April, 2008.
