Details: SUMMARY: Letter sent 1/18/08 about detection and exceedance of chemicals DETAILS: The systems sampling on 10/15/07 detected 0.0022 mg/L of cis- 1,2 dichloroethylene. The system was told to sample asap. This sample will count as the first quarter, 2008 sample. The second quarterly sample must be collected between April, 2008 and June 30, 2008. I will contact regarding any additional sampling requirements after reviewing the first two quarter results. The systems 10/15/07 sampling also detected 0.0064mg/L of Trichloroethylene. This result is above the Maximum Contaminant Level of 0.005 mg/L. System must sample asap. This sample will count as the first quarter, 2008 sample. The second quarterly sample must be collected between April, 2008 and June 30, 2008. System will be contacted regarding any additional sampling requirements after reviewing the first two quarter results. ACTION NEEDED: It would be prudent to ensure that all users are made aware of the results of the 10/15/07 chemical test results, any potential health risks, and that an alternative source of safe drinking water is available to them. System must monitor and report for vinyl chloride on the same schedule as the chemicals listed above.
