Details:	SUMMARY: Equipment Assistance DETAILS: North Bayside Estates South pumps from a single well and provides service to 22 connections. Disinfection is currently provided by dripping chlorine directly into the well head and contact time is provided by the well casing volume, 70 gallon pressure tank and available distribution piping. This system does not provide adequate contact time. Additionally, the operator finds it difficult to test chlorine concentrations on a daily basis. The system must provide properly functioning disinfection. The operator would like us to investigate the feasibility of UV disinfection. He would also like some equipment recommendations for chlorination. After visiting the system, it is clear that both the North and South sides need attention. It may be feasible to combine the two systems and utilize one set of equipment to provide disinfection for both the north and south sides. I made a site visit 4/22/08, and visited both the systems. Both need improvements from this point forward, I am going to look at the two systems together. My report to the owner will include options for separate system improvements as well as measures required to combine the systems. ACTION NEEDED: Prepare a report with recommendations for combining the two systems.
