| Details: | SUMMARY: OERS Incident 2008-1224, 2-gal fertilizer spill in Tualatin River in Tigard, OR DETAILS: Jeff Miller (503-519-7894) with the Tualitin Fire Department reported citizen had accidently put two gallons of Fertilizer (Scotts Fertilizer with weed control 29-3-3) into his pool, thinking it was pool chemicals and released it into the Tualitin River. The citizen discovered this error around 3am, deciding the pool water needed to be removed. The water was pumped into a seasonal creek area which flows into the Tualatin River. Owner of property is Mike Layman. Kimberlee Vanpatten (DEQ) will be forwarding this to Washington Counties Water Control and Environmental Services section. No water systems draw source water downstream of this incident (vicinity of 106th and SW Kent in Tigard OR, Washington County). No further action is needed. ACTION NEEDED: No water systems are anticipated to be impacted - no further action needed on the part of DWP. | ||
