Details: | John left a message saying he had received an E.coli positive result from the most recent quarterly test, and was wondering if he should shock the storage tank before taking repeat samples. I called back to explain that no, repeat samples or, if the result really was E.coli, the five confirmation samples (plus two, since there are three wells that feed into one storage tank), should be taken prior to any corrective action. John had talked to the well service person, who had recommended shocking quickly, but based on advice from the lab called EH first. I spoke with the lab shortly after talking with John, and confirmed that no, it was a TC+ result, not E.coli, so lab will correct John's repeat protocol when he comes in for testing equipment today. Of concern also is the fact that Beaver Loop missed the coliform sampling for the first quarter which, along with the failure to do temporary routines in October of 2019 may lead to monthly testing. The lab mentioned that the worker involved with Beaver Loops recent test results walked out without signing the paperwork, so the report was delayed due to required corrective paperwork on the lab's part. Per conversation with Chuck Michael, because it's a state regulated system, the monitoring frequency will stay quarterly. (6.3.20). |
