| Details: | SUMMARY: Two positive E.Coli routine water samples. DETAILS: On 5/28/08 at around 12 noon I received an alert regarding 2 positive E. Coli water samples (routines). I immediately called WL Kelly and left her a message about how Public Notice was required as well as four repeat samples within 24 hours and recommended disinfecting the system. Later that day I received a phone call from Rob Grounds who is the new operator in addition to Malin Municipal Water. He told me that he was planning to take the repeat water samples today (May 28, 20008) and that the system is chlorinated. Mr. Grounds believes that the chlorine residual reading of 3 ppm was an error and is more likely to be 0.3 ppm. I faxed a template and instructions for developing a Public Notice: E. Coli positive to Rob Grounds. ACTION NEEDED: Four repeat water samples must be taken within 24 hours and Public Notice must also be submitted to all consumers of the water within 24 hours. If the repeat samples test positive for E. Coli then further water system treatment and/or disinfection is required. | ||
