Details: | Western Carriage Estates contracted to have their storage tank relined. However, due to problems during installation, the tank was deemed unusable by the Oregon Health Authority. Steve Gordenier wanted advice on how to handle the situation. Initially, when Steve contacted the circuit rider program, I advised that replacing the tank with a poly tank would work as temporary measure. Steve is now concerned that he will not have enough storage going into the summer, so I offered to provide a recommendation on capacity needed. I met with Water Operator, Ken Beall, on Monday, March 9th, 2020 to inspect the existing system. Observed the existing 20,000-gallon tank that was relined. It has been sitting empty for nearly a year and the WS has been using a 2,500-gallon poly tank as temporary storage. During the previous summer, it was observed that the tank got below approximately 30% capacity. Ken and Steve would like to use two 5,000-gallon poly tanks as a more permanent solution and use the 20,000-gallon tank as a fire suppression tank. I will prepare an official memo providing my recommendation on capacity. The memo will be prepared and submitted by 03/31/2020. |
