| Details: | SUMMARY: FINAL APPROVAL - Cartridge Filter installation Plan Review 58-2008 DETAILS: The HARMSCO cartridge filter unit approved for 2 log cryptosporidium removal had been installed on June 1. Matt plans to change out the cartridge within the next few days, but he has treated 3.3 MG in the initial set. The complete treatment train consists of 2 pressure sand filters, 2 3M bag filters (rated for giardia removal), and the 2 HARMSCO cartridge filter units. The 3M bag filters have to be changed daily during peak demand times, and generally at least every 3 days. The project included re-bedding the pressure filters along with the addition of carbon, and the addition of a timing box for backwashing the pressure filters (once per day). The total cost of the project was about $18,000. The HARMSCO cartridges cost $500 each, and the 3M 123A bags cost $30-$35. ACTION NEEDED: Continue completing SWTR reports. | ||
