| Details: | SUMMARY: positive total coliform routine samples DETAILS: I received an alert for 3 positive total coliform routine samples taken on 9/3/08. I spoke with Jim Stephens on 9/5/08 and he said they repaired a leak, put chlorine tabs in the pipe to disinfect it, took a couple samples, which were negative. He said they have a well-maintained Cross Connection Program. He said he wants to avoid shock chlorinating the system, so he plans to install a temporary continuous chlorinator, as discussed with Casey Lyon, for ~3 weeks and stop it a week before the next 5 routine samples are due. He said he will probably install it on 9/9/08. He knows to keep the Tier 2 Public Notice in place and will probably issue another one with information about the temporary chlorination. ACTION NEEDED: Await results of 5 follow-up routine samples in October. | ||
