| Details: | SUMMARY: Responded to positive coliform alert DETAILS: Responded to a TC alert for sample taken on 9/8/08. Spoke to Linda Meyer, Deans wife. She normally takes the water samples. She knows to take 4 repeat samples when she gets the bottles from the lab, and I informed her of the requirement to take 5 follow up samples next month (October). She says getting a positive coliform result has become a regular occurrence, approximately once every year. Last time (April 2007), the coliform was in the water itself, as bourne out by the positive repeat samples. The corrective action of shock chlorination of the well was successful. A future water system survey might try to identify the pathway that is allowing coliform to enter their water on a periodic basis. ACTION NEEDED: Await results of repeat tests. | ||
