| Details: | SUMMARY: Total coliform positives during summer 2008 DETAILS: Spoke to Paul about the total coliform routines and repeat positives beginning in July 2008. System had a routine positive on July 21, 2008, followed by a repeat positive on July 21. Lab confirmed that contact was made the water system after the repeat positive. It is unclear whether any public notice was conducted or any corrective action such as shock chlorinating the well was done. The repeats were followed by five routines in August, two of which came up positive. The repeats were all absent, however five TC routines will be required for September. I reiterated to Paul the requirement of the water system to have a locally assigned contact to receive the data, and understand what appropriate actions to initiate upon a total coliform positive. ACTION NEEDED: Forwarded coliform sampling, public notice, and well disinfection information to Paul. Mentioned that the system will be required to take 5 total coliform routines during the month of September. | ||
