| Details: | SUMMARY: Repeat samples positive for total coliform DETAILS: August 20, 2008 John Cloud called me again and left message stating that he contacted the water lab who informed him that 3 of 4 repeat samples were negative for total coliform. The one sample that tested positive was water directly off the pressure tank and well with no chlorination. John said he plans to chlorinate the well to alleviate the coliform problem. Later that afternoon KCEHD received the Water Quality Alert detailing that the positive sample was for E. coli. On Aug. 21, 2008 I called John and informed him that Public Notice regarding the E.coli was required which he agreed to compose and post at the park. He also agreed to send us a copy of this Public Notice he composed. In addition to mentioning that 5 routine samples are required in September, I attached instructions for chlorinating the well and composing an E.coli/Boil Water public notice in an email to John Cloud. Mr. Cloud believes that the system, which only serves two restrooms is likely to be closed after the public notice is posted. ACTION NEEDED: Post Public Notice and chlorinate the well. Then 5 routine samples will need to be taken the following month. The system will need to send us a copy of the Public Notice regarding total coliform which John says that he will send to KCEHD. | ||
