| Details: | Followed up on two questions/comments pertaining to the open plan review for disinfection byproduct treatment and corrosion control with soda ash. For DBP treatment, clarified that currently Skyview is using a garnet/sand pressure filter ahead of a 1 micron cartridge filter, along with increased flushing in distribution system. David indicated that the 3,000 gallons of flushing a day equals about a fifth of the pipe water volume. The storage tank is generally not in use, only used when changing out soda ash feed pump. David to collect DBPs in June to see if increased flushing lowers DBPs. We discussed moving to the next step, either adding a coagulant to the media filter or adding ammonia, pursuant to the BCA, if DBP levels do not decrease. I reminded him to forward 1st quarter DBP MCL exceedance public notice to users and DWS promptly. For soda ash corrosion control, I requested that David forward pH and alkalinity data collected over the past year at both the entry point after treatment and in distribution, to both the County and DWS, so we may review to set minimums for both parameters. |
