| Details: | SUMMARY: Positive E.coli DETAILS: Called Ms. Hubbard on 8-25-08 to discuss. She had already distributed a boil water notice and provided bottled water to tenants who wanted it. Told her that I wanted to inspect the water system to try to identify the cause of the problem. Met with Pauline and daughter (Sue) at the site with Bruce (OAWU). Inspected the reservoir and well. Identified several deficiencies and possible openings to dirt and mice. Advised to have the reservoir professionally cleaned and flushed as the first priority. Other needs: Locate overflow pipe discharge and install screen or flap valve, seal opening around pipe for floats on top of reservoir, install new gasket and screened vent on wellhead, rebuild concrete slab around wellhead, and improve surface drainage around well house. Called Ms. Hubbard on 9-4-08 to check on progress. Reservoir has been cleaned and a special coliform sample on 9-2-08 was good. Wellhead and overflow pipe were fixed. ACTION NEEDED: Submit a copy of the boil water notice and resume taking routine samples. | ||
