| Details: | SUMMARY: Positive total coliform DETAILS: On September 2, 2008 the KCEHD received an alert regarding two positive water samples for total coliform. I called and spoke with Bill Smith who informed me that the systems well was dug deeper, that two new tanks were installed, and that entirely new plumbing was installed for one well. He says that the system is being chlorinated and repeat samples will be taken. I then called the systems new official contact, Chris Little, who told me that eight repeat samples will be taken after the system shock chlorinates and flushes the chlorine out of the system. ACTION NEEDED: Four repeat samples are required for each of the positive routine samples: a total of eight samples. If one or more is positive, public notice is required as well as corrective action on part of the system. Regardless of the outcome, five routine water samples will be required this month since the routine samples were taken at the end of August. | ||
