| Details: | SUMMARY: Positive total coliform repeat sample DETAILS: I spoke with Dave Terrusa who said the lab informed him that one of his 4 repeat samples taken on 10/13 was positive. He said the lab didnt specify that e-coli was negative in their message, and the results are not in SDWIS, so I told him to confirm with the lab that e-coli is negative. He said the positive sample was taken from a deadend line that is not usually sampled. He said the fire department flushes the line approximately once a month but he said there was air in the line when he sampled and believes the positive is the result of the line being a deadend. He said he flushed the line thoroughly today and increased the chlorine from a residual of 0.2 mg/L to a residual of 0.4 mg/L. He said the system has had a tracer study but he is having difficulty finding a copy of it with the closure of HBH Engineers in the Coos Bay office. I suggested he contact the Sherwood HBH office. I told him to issue a Tier 2 Public Notice and to take another sample at the deadend line and a couple more elsewhere in the system to be sure. I also suggested he talk with Scott Curry once he is back in the office because Scott knows more about his system. Dave knows to take 5 more samples next month. ACTION NEEDED: Await results of todays post-flushing samples. | ||
