| Details: | SUMMARY: Discussed with operator the positive TC sample taken 6/27/08 DETAILS: Scott finally called me back to discuss positive TC sample. Scott told me that a resident of the system, Aaron Evans, took the sample from the kitchen sink at his house. Scott said that they did not know the procedure for drawing samples and did not remove the aerator and flush the water as required. This system is fed by a spring and is chlorinated but the chlorine residual is not checked daily or regularly. No test kit is available for monitoring chlorine residuals. Scott does not know what the chlorine residual was the day the sample was taken. I discussed procedures after a positive TC sample with Scott. I will help him prepare a coliform bacteria sampling plan during the survey on 7/22/08. There appears to be a lack of communication/cooperation between the residents and no basic knowledge regarding public water systems and procedures. I will check with Chuck Michael as to whether the 6/27/08 TC result can be invalidated. ACTION NEEDED: I have scheduled a Water System Survey for 7/22/08 | ||
