| Details: | SUMMARY: Clarification of Diquat monitoring requirements DETAILS: I spoke with Richard today regarding the fourth quarter of sampling required for Diquat in response to a detection of 0.8 parts per billion (ppb) in Sept. 2007. Requirement is quarterly sampling for 4 quarters for surface water system. Skylands uses surface water seasonally by purchasing from Lake Oswego. Four quarters ends with 4th quarter of 2008, as sampling began during 1st quarter of 2008. Letter dated 10/13/08 updates 7/9/08 survey letter which stated that Diquat monitoring to end with third quarter 2008. ACTION NEEDED: Skylands to monitor Diquat at the well, where original detection occurred. Skylands to report any detection to DWP immediately. DWP to review 4 quarters of Diquat monitoring, to determine if sampling can return to annual for three years, if all events below MCL of 20 ppb. | ||
