| Details: | SUMMARY: Reviewed coliform sampling and temporary disinfection procedures. DETAILS: The first coliform sample had been taken from a frost free hydrant near the reservoir. We reviewed sample procedures and I recommended taking additional samples from household taps. I recommended temporary disinfection by placing chlorine in the 46,000 gallon reservoir, followed by flushing. For bleach, use 2 gallons which should yield about 2.0 mg/l residual. For calcium hypochlorite powder use 1 pound, which should also yield 1.5-2.0 mg/l residual. ACTION NEEDED: Repeat samples to be taken, and then reservoir to be disinfected if problem not resolved. | ||
