| Details: | SUMMARY: Lead action level exceedance for 9/08 sampling round. DETAILS: I received an alert for a lead action level exceedance on 10/29/08 for samples collected 9/18/08. While on site 10/30/08 for a WTP inspection, I discussed the situation and reviewed the results with the plant operators. One of the samples with the highest lead level was collected from a home undergoing an extensive remodel. The workers at the home did not speak english well and the operator accepted a sample from them that may have been collected from a wellded spigot where the kitchen sink was being replaced. The plant operators will confirm this information and provide it in writing to me asking for sample invalidation due to the improper collection site. They will need to replace this site with an appropriate sample location asap. If this documentation and replacement sample are not provided, the sample will not be invalidated and further follow-up will be required including collection of water quality parameter samples, source samples, public education, and a letter of recommendation for resolution of the lead action level exceedance. ACTION NEEDED: Await documentation requesting sample invalidation and results of replacement sample. | ||
